Why Choose Raze Athletic Prep?
WHAT IS CLUB VOLLEYBALL?
Volleyball clubs are private organizations, not affiliated with any schools - that offer organized volleyball instruction and team competition. Generally, Clubs join their regional chapter of the United States Volleyball Association, such as the Northern California Volleyball Association (NCVA) or Amateur Athletic Union (AAU).
WHAT IS THE NCVA MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENT?
The NCVA (Northern California Volleyball Association) organizes and administers the League tournaments. The Association also coordinates with USA Volleyball sponsored tournaments: No Dinx, National Qualifiers, etc.
Grow it.
The Association has a annual membership requirement for all players who accept a position on a Club team. This membership fee is separate from the Club fees and players must activate their membership directly with the NCVA. The NCVA will provide each player with NCVA number necessary for club play.
Sell it.
Players must activate either a temporary pass or annual membership prior to attending Tryouts. If it is your intention to play on a club team it is best to activate the membership, not the pass. Membership is transferable to all Clubs that participate with the NCVA.
HOW DO TRYOUTS WORK?
All Volleyball Clubs hold tryouts on the same weekend/s, usually the first weekend in November. Most Clubs post their tryout times by age on their websites. It is not uncommon for Clubs to have conflicting times for the same age, you will need to prioritize your Tryouts. Some clubs offer a makeup tryout (if needed) BUT attending the first Tryout is critical. Players often receive an offer to join a team, either during or after the Tryout period is complete. When we make an offer - we are committed to you, we will not retract an offer. Players who do not get an offer at the Tryout may be put on a waiting list and receive a call within a few days. When players are given an offer, they can give a verbal commitment to a Club- but valid acceptance is considered binding by the NCVA on signing night (usually 10 days after the initial tryout date).
MORE ABOUT THE DEVELOPMENT TEAM TRYOUTS (GRADES 3-5)
Evaluation helps to place them on the most appropriate team. All Development players will be accepted - based on acceptance date and number of teams offered.
